Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 47 Keep it Krafty

Hello Everyone
This will be a very quick post will be back later to link,
I have the first of our guests arrived to watch the Footy Grand Final,
So here is my entry for Cheery Lynn Challenge 47 Keep it Krafty
I am back to finish the post, we had to used Kraft on your project, so I have used gift bag made from Kraft paper mache.
The dies that I have used are Nesting Dies Square Scalloped XL 2, Dainty Dutch Deco Frame DL 141,
Lace Hummingbird B 194, Sentiment Frame 1 B 189,
 Build a Flower Embellishment # 2 B 188, Bird Cage B 198
Head on over to Scrappy-go-Lucky for your Cheery Lynn Dies
I am loving this Embellishment Build a flower Die, the baby's breath is so tiny and delicate and then I have used some of the other dies on this set to make the smaller flower's, and of course the Stem and Branch are from the same set.
The Hummingbird is cut out of a shiny gold card and more of the flowers on the back,
I used the Sentiment Frame Die's to make the gold tags around the box to make it look like hinges.
And a close up of the Build a Flower Die,
Thanks for dropping by
And a big thanks to the Design Team for picking me again in the top 3 for my card in the Challenge no
There are some Design Team changes happening at the moment, Dawn, Debbie and Jeannie are sadly leaving the Design Team and there are new Designer's joining them. A big warm welcome to Joann, Sandie and Sheila I am sure there journey will be rewarding for themslelves, Cheery Lynn and for us who get to see there gorgoues creations.
Bye for now Shelley

StuckOnUSketches

Hello everyone,
Well its starting to get warmer here in Sunny Queensland,
time to put the blankets away and turn on the fans and the air-conditioner. Get the BBQ cleaned and ready to go for friends and family who pop over for a swim in the pool.
I can't wait to see little Lorenzo in his board-shorts ready for a swim, I need to get these photos scrapped and finished before I take more of him.
So here is my entry for the challenge over at StuckOnUSketches September 14th
This is the design we had to follow and I wanted to just use my stash of flowers and Chipboard words.
I have gone with Green and White flowers as I wanted it to look soft for a baby but also the colours for a little boy.
I love this Graphic 45 Paper Little Darlings and the lovely bottle caps that have been made with smaller prints of the paper. I didn't make these but I have ll the bits and pieces to start making my own so you will probably see lots more of them on my cards and layouts.
Well I am of to finish working on my new project for the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge, so come back in a  day or two to see what I have made.
Thanks for leaving your comments, I enjoy reading them.
Cheers Shelley

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 46 Frame It

Hello everyone,
A quick post for me this week I have been unwell again, so haven't spent as much time as I would like to in my Craft Room. But as you know I just love to do the Cheery Lynn Challenges.

Thanks to DT Ladies for choosing my last card in the
Borders and Edges Challenge no 45  for the Top 3, there were some gorgeous cards last week so once again thanks I am honoured to add another date to my side bar.

So onto this weeks challenge no 46 Frame It.
I have used one of the new Dies Mexican Tile Pattern FRM 149 for my frame.
When you cut it out the middle part comes out as one piece, with all the little pieces cut out , so I didn't use this part.
Mexican Tile Pattern
Another new one is the Embellishment 2 B 188 and I have just used the teeny tiny little flowers, Baby Breath to add around the smaller square in the middle.
Embellishment #2
Judy's Bloom is the flower in the middle that I have framed, so this is my very simple card for this weeks challenge and don't forget to head on over to Scrappy-go-Lucky for all your Cheery Lynn Dies.
Just a close up of all the teeny flowers in the gorgeous new die, it actually cuts out 21 of these in one cut, can  you imagine cutting them out one at a time, this one die will cut out leaves, branches, flowers saving you time money and space.
Well I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend
Cheers Shelley

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge Blog Borders/Edges

Hello everyone
I have had a lovely weekend, in and out of my craft room.
I have my card to show you for this weeks challenge at Cheery Lynn is Borders / Edges
I just love the colours and pictures on the new Graphic 45 A Ladies Diary Collection so much so that I had to get the 12 x 12 paper pack and the 8 x 8 one as well.
So I have used a bit of each one to make this card.
The Cheery Lynn Dies that I have used are
Anastasia Border B 136
Daisy Lace Bracelet DL 135
Lace Corner Deco Die D B164
Nestabillities Dies Oval

I have used an 8 x 8 card and then cut the top fold in two places to get the middle part.
I measured the size of the picture that I had to use and then cut the top part of the card
at 2 inches and then at 6 inches so that left 4 inches in the middle.
You actually glue the 2 side pieces down so that it looks like this,
And then I have used Anastasia Border for all four edges,
A Kaiser Rubon for the sentiment in the middle and
because the paper is double sided, it looks good from the underneath as well.
I love this picture of the Lady with her parasol,
And finally i have used the Lace Corner D to make the flowers and finished it of with the Daisy Chain Bracelet cut to fit and some pretty pearls.
I hope you like this one, I am of to do some more craft projects,
"so much to do and so little time"
Cheers Shelley

StuckOnUSketches August 31

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog,
I have a lot of new friends that I know have been coming over and having a little look at what I do, so welcome to the new and the old and I hope you are having a great week.
Well its nearly the end again on the StuckOnUSketch Challenge from the 31st August to September 13th so I thought I had better get my skates on and post this layout that I have made.
Before I do thanks again to the Design Team for picking my layout in the
Top 3 for the last challenge August 17th.
Here is the sketch

I think I get my craftiness from my Dad he is always making something or another and this is a layout of just some of the little house or cottages that he makes.
He makes all of this himself even the little bricks are all pieced together, he is very clever and I have my eye on one of these for my back deck although I am not sure if I will get it they seem to have found there spot in his garden.

As you can see I turned my page around
I love the details of the Cheery Lynn Dies and the one that I have used behind the watch is only the middle of the Notre Dame Cathedral Doily DL 224.
Notre Dame Cathedral Doily with Angel Wings
As you can see this one comes with two sizes of Angle Wings which fir perfectly behind the Doily, This one was so easy to cut and just all the pieces just fell away and I just trimmed it to fit the wing.
Then we have the Celtic Whimsy B 203 Border Die and although it doesn't come with the background wings I have just cut very close to the edge to make my own.
I have linked the dies back to Scrappy-go-Lucky where Mandy has a huge range to choose from.

Just thought I would add a little picture of a new Baby Girl added to our Family her name is Kaeleigh she was born on the 12/09/12 and weighed 3080g or 6lb 13oz, 54cm

I hope you enjoy the rest of your week

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 44 - Stitch It Up

Hello Everyone
I feel like I have forgotten how to create a post it seems that long since I have done one.
Well I didn't enter the Cheery Lynn Challenge last week, and it was a good one they had 56 entries, I just didn't have enough time to fit everything in.
But I am back with this weeks Challenge 44 Stitch It Up.
You have to use either real or faux stitching. I don't have any room to put my sewing machine up and silly me bought a cheap thing for under fifty dollars and its not very good at all. So it was the old fashioned way for me out with the needle and thread and hand stitched around the card.
The dies that I have used are
French Flair Classic XL-12 ( new one for me )
French Flair Doily Stacker DL 177
Happy Birthday B 211 ( new one for me)
Bird Cage B 198 ( new one for me )
Hummingbird B 193 ( nee one for me)
I love making easel cards they are so easy and I think they look so nice sitting up in display
I am loving the new dies, I am not sure which one to use next, I have bought so many over the past couple of weeks so I need to get a move on and use them.
Do you like my fancy chain, made buy old fashioned chain stitch and it was so easy to hand my little bird cage from the flourish.
I have punched holes an stitched around the shape of the card and for the Happy Birthday i have actually trimmed of the present on the bottom because it wouldn't fit on the card.
Well I was rather please at how my card turned out.
Now you can head on over to Mandy at Scrappy-go-Lucky and see all the new Cheery Lynn Dies she has in stock.
Cheers Shelley
