Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 29 add a Door or Window

I have been waiting for my new dies to arrive and I wasn't sure if they would get here in time for this challenge so I had to go with what I had made during the week just in case.
So this is what I came up with, for the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 29 add a Door or Window,I don't really know what you would call it and I did have a roof on it but took it of as I didn't like the finish.
The Dies I have used
French Lattice Small Frame FRM 132
Screen Door with Dog A2 165
Frangipani with Leaves B 134
Lace Corner Deco A B 161

I have recycled some plastic of Spellbinders packaging and used it to attach the dies, and make the square box. The lace was white and I coloured it with Tim Holtz Distress Stain Antique Linen
Three of the sides I have cut the Door frame in have to make it look like windows
This is the first time that I have used the Frangipani Dies B134 and added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink Scattered Straw for the colour in the middle.
I decided to put a candle in the middle and see what it would look like ( not a great photo) and I quite like the look it give of.
Don't forget all the highlighted products can be purchased form Scrappy-go-Lucky.
Just thought I would show you what I have come up with for storing my Cheery Lynn Dies, So far I have filled 4 albums and counting.
I purchased these from Kmart they are called Creativ 8 x 8 Scrapbook Album, and the best thing is they were only $6.00 each.
They have 10 sleeves which is 20 pages if you count front and back.
I have just put one Die in each sleeve unless they have the wing to match,
I will be decorating them with my Dies so will post them when they are done.
Until next time,
Shelley

  1. Hi Shelley, I was just admiring your screen door card when I got your email comment. I love how you used the French Lattice die behind the door frame. Great card, Tfs, and thanks again for your kind words on my project. Hugs* Joann

  2. Hi Shelley, I really LOVE your door and the lattice behind it with the flowers.. I have just gotten the large lattice die and I love it...and what a great idea for storing your dies in the album like that.. I have a kmart in Toowoomba so I must look out for that.. I have also heard about storing the dies in CD cases, which may work out also.. and thanks for your comments on my blog about my WW1 layout.. that was just too much of a coincidence for me.. I totally did not copy from the other layout..so just thought I wouldnt enter it..and I dont mind.. I am happy with how it turned out and happy to put it up on my blog.. so thanks for your kind words.. it means a lot.. and I hope to catch you at the show in June.. getting closer now!!

  7. that looks so pretty with the candle in it. Is it one of those flame proof ones? They are good for using with paper projects like this as not chance of them blowing into a real flame.
The die storage is a great idea, nice and compact and easy to flick through. the CD zipper files someone mentioned would also work well, but probably not fit the square on rectangle dies.
