This weeks challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs is Things with Wings.
I just love the Cheery Lynn Butterflies they are so fine in detail and so easy to cut. This is the dies that I have used on my card. You can see that Mandy at Scrappy-go-Lucky has most of these Dies and she has a special at the moment so get in quick.
Large Sunflower Doily DL 181 (new one for me)
Fanciful Flourish B 117 ( new one for me)
Garden Gate B124 (new one for me) cut out 3 times
Spring Basket DL214 (new one for me)
Lace Egg Four DL 210 (new one for me)
Lace Egg Five DL 211 ( new one for me)
Exotic Butterfly small set of 3 DL 113
Small Angel Wing DL 113A
Here is my card, I have used the Large Sunflower die in the corner but I have cut it up and added the extra piece around the bottom to give it more on the edges. do you like my verse on the car,
Sending A Flutter of Easter Wishes,
I love the little Spring Basket and I have threaded ribbon through the handle of the basket.
The eggs I have cut out and then used gold card at the back of them.
This is a close up of the Garden Gate or as I would call it my picket fence, I have added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink Antique Linen just to give the fence and old look.
I hope you like my Thing with Wings card, I am of to pack a few more things for my Holiday.

Baby Shower Card

Happy Monday to you all, only 5 more sleeps till we head of on our Holidays to Caloundra. We all really need to get away for this one as we have had a few stressful months so I am really looking forward to this holiday.
We had a friends Baby Shower on the weekend and the girls decided that I had to make the card, I wonder why.... they would have just bought one, not very crafty some of my friends.
I have used Cricut Cartridge New Arrival for the pram and the words, and a Martha Stewart round the page punch as well as some Kaiser flourishes and a little bling.

Just a side on photo to show you that its an easel card and its quite large 8" x 8" in size.
Maybe you can guess that she is having a BOY!
Well I hope I will get a couple more posts in before the week is out, I am trying to get a few things packed and then onto my craft as I am not sure what I am taking with me this time.
I have got a fair few of the Marianne Craftables Dies as well as some new Nestabilities and new Cheery Lynn's so I think that may be my choice?

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 20 - Easter

I would just like to say a big thanks to Cheery Lynn Dies and to Jeannie, as I won a gorgeous Egg die called Lace egg Three, hop on over to Jeannie's blog she does some amazing work with Cheery Lynn.

Well as it say's Cheery Lynn Challenge Easter, can you believe that Easter is nearly here. We always go to Caloundra Sunshine Coast for holidays so I am starting to pack as we leave next weekend.
Here we go with my design for the challenge, I have once again used lots of dies so I will list them all.
A2 Frame Die Lattice FRM 115
Border Die Carnivale DL 129
Olive Branch B147
Tropical Leaves B119
Meduim Rose B154
Minature Rose B152
The links will take you over to Mandy at Scrappy-go-Lucky she has a great range of the Cheery Lynn Dies.
I have used Cricut Cartridge Doodlecharms to cut out the Easter eggs and a Stampin up punch for the tag. The little bird/chicken is from the new Kaiser collectables.
I have used a glass jar and cut the Lattice Die twice to wrap around the jar. The Border die Carnivale nearly fits around it I just had to cut and fit an extra piece.
A close up of the front, I love using the little leaves and branches they are so versatile and great to use as fillers.
The back of the jar, I didn't bother trimming the lattice die to fit because I thought it gave it a bit of character and the eggs just sit nicely at the back.
And for the lid of the jar I glued lots of the Medium Rose Die on the outer edge and then the Miniature Rose die on the inside. Of course adding a little bit of Kaiser bling to give it a bit of sparkle.
I will possibly be back with another post next week but I will take this opportunity to say Happy Easter to all of you.

Sketches with a Twist March

I have some exciting news to tell you soon so watch this space.............................
Now on to my design for Sketches with a Twist for March, I haven't got photos on this layout as its for my Niece's Baby Album so I hope that's okay.
This is what we had for the sketch and we had to use 3 identical embellishments somewhere on the layout.

I have used my Cheery Lynn Die Dainty Dutch Die  DL 141 from Scrappy-go-Lucky, for the Chevron which is the bottom part of the layout, I would have just said the zig zag shape but it does have a proper name. Its a very simple layout as I don't want to go over the top when its not for me, and I didn't want to take away from the intricate details of the Cheery Lynn Die.
I have cut the die out and then cut it in four to give me the triangle shapes then just placed them on the page to fit and there you have it my own Chevron pattern.
And I actually have 3 lots of three embellishments on my page with the blue Card Candi form Scrappy-go-Lucky.
The blue in the middle of the circle is from the middle of the Dainty Dutch Die.
This is just an extra page for the album so I can put the two together
I hope you enjoy looking at my Layout as much as I enjoyed making them.

STRUT YOUR CUTS CHALLENGE # 9

HOWDY PARTNER, This weeks challenge over at Scrappy-go-Lucky is to use any these cartridges, Old West, Paper Dolls Dress Up, Tie The Knot, Girls Make-up Party and Phrases. I have used Old West and Paper Dolls Dress Up.
I bought this paper a few years back and it actually has horses all over it so I thought as I was doing a horse page that it would work well with my layout.
I love horses in this cartridge and the wheels, the only thing is the grass from Paper Dolls Dress Up.
I actually flipped this horse so he would be facing the other way,
This is the double page layout for my Album

STRUT YOUR CUTS CHALLENGE # 8

Here is my layout for Strut Your Cuts Challenge # 8, with Mandy over at Scrappy-go-Lucky. I have done really simple pages for my Nieces Baby Album that I have now got to get a move on with as I want to give it to here at her Baby Shower, which is at the end of May. I will be posting from time to time all the decorations as I have been put in charge of making them, wow I love doing this so it will be fun.
So I have used Everyday Paper Dolls for this double page layout
Just a close up of each page
and the second one, This is a real challenge for me as I normally have photo's to scrap with so its a lot of fun doing it the other way round.
We went up to Mt Tamborine with some close friends of our today and look at what I bought at  garage sale on the way home, I am going to use it to decorate for my Niece's Baby Shower, then who know's maybe I will re-sell it or maybe keep it with my other one.

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 17 - Lots of Layers

This weeks challenge over at Cheery Lynn is Lots of Layers, so I made this card up and not only does it have lots of layers of Cardstock and Paper, but lots of Cheery Lynn dies as well.
I have used Princess Garden Window Frame FRM 126, Victorian Romance Flourish DL 151, Two of Hearts DL 128, Exotic Butterfly small set of 3 DL 113, Large Rose B155, Miniature Rose B 152, Stacker Flower # 1 Leaf SF-1, Tropical Leaves B119, Japanese Lace and Flourish Frame DL 137 just the leaves.
This is the front of the card,
Then you open it up by undoing the ribbon,
This is the card opened up completely,
Close up of the flowers,
The back of the card,
I haven't decided if I will use this one for a Birthday Card or Mother's Day so I haven't put any greetings on it yet. This is quite an easy card to make and a couple of my friends came over last night and I helped them to make one each, but it took us longer as I had to cut out all the dies and when you times it by 3, I was pretty tired by the end of the night. I promised them I would put there cards on hear as well so they are very special cards as well as being special friends.
Mavis's card
Meg's Card
Karin's Card
They have to just add a few pearls etc to finish their cards but they did a really good job.
I hope you enjoy looking at the cards
Cheers Shelley
