Baby Shower

Well I have had a busy few weeks getting decorations made for my niece Natalie's Baby Shower.
I have used lots of different products to make all of this and obviously she is having a boy as its all blue and white. Cricut Cartridge Tags Bags Boxes and More 2,Celebrations, Ribbons and Rosettes, Cheery Lynn Dies, Marrianne Dies and just lots of bits and pieces all made with lots of LOVE.
This Banner was made with Ribbon and Rosettes Cricut Cartridge.
I had to take my pram as my little balloon baby had to sleep somewhere.
I have used New Arrival Cricut Cartridge for the Nappy Cake and  the pram is a Marrianne Die.
These little bags are from TBBM 2 Cricut Cartridge
Marrianne Dies for this one.
I used Cheery Lynn's Lace Light Deco Border B 133 to go around the edges of the cake stand and then the cupcakes are from Celebrations Cricut Cartridge.
A close up of the Cupcakes my daughter Jessie made, she must get her talent from her Mum, (ha ha).
Just thought I would pop in a photo of the Mum to be

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 29 add a Door or Window

I have been waiting for my new dies to arrive and I wasn't sure if they would get here in time for this challenge so I had to go with what I had made during the week just in case.
So this is what I came up with, for the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 29 add a Door or Window,I don't really know what you would call it and I did have a roof on it but took it of as I didn't like the finish.
The Dies I have used
French Lattice Small Frame FRM 132
Screen Door with Dog A2 165
Frangipani with Leaves B 134
Lace Corner Deco A B 161

I have recycled some plastic of Spellbinders packaging and used it to attach the dies, and make the square box. The lace was white and I coloured it with Tim Holtz Distress Stain Antique Linen
Three of the sides I have cut the Door frame in have to make it look like windows
This is the first time that I have used the Frangipani Dies B134 and added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink Scattered Straw for the colour in the middle.
I decided to put a candle in the middle and see what it would look like ( not a great photo) and I quite like the look it give of.
Don't forget all the highlighted products can be purchased form Scrappy-go-Lucky.
Just thought I would show you what I have come up with for storing my Cheery Lynn Dies, So far I have filled 4 albums and counting.
I purchased these from Kmart they are called Creativ 8 x 8 Scrapbook Album, and the best thing is they were only $6.00 each.
They have 10 sleeves which is 20 pages if you count front and back.
I have just put one Die in each sleeve unless they have the wing to match,
I will be decorating them with my Dies so will post them when they are done.
Until next time,
Shelley

Sketches with a Twist for May

Well this months layout for Sketches with a Twist you have to incorporate sewing onto your pages, either by hand or machine and the sketch ......

I haven't tried to sew on Cards or Layouts its just not something that I have put much thought into and my machine is quiet a big one, so I bought a small one recently just for this purpose, although its not a good one so may have to look for another brand. This is all of the new Kaiser Collection Rock Pool I thought it was a good match for these photos.
Just a close up of my sewing pretty basic for my first go just zig zag on both sides.
Well I am hoping to receive my new Cheery Lynn Dies from Mandy at Scrappy-go-Lucky tomorrow so I should be back with some projects and will be showing you what AI have been working on for my Niece's Baby Shower.

Scrappy-go-Lucky Design Team Member & Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 28 - Bling it Up

Well for all of the Mum's in Australia I hope you all had a wonderful Mothers Day. Mine was blessed with spending it with my Mother and my Mother-in-Law and both of our families.
My Mothers Day was extra special for me as Mandy from Scrappy-go-Lucky formally welcomed me to the Design Team.
This is a little bit of what she wrote you can see it on the blog- Shelley has been a long time supporter of Scrappy-go-Lucky and is a passionate crafter. She gives anything a go but where her passion and skills really excel is with metal dies. Shelley is the QUEEN of Cheery Lynn dies.So how is that for my welcome, thanks Mandy for that very warm welcome and I look for ward to designing for you.

Head on over to Scrappy-go-Lucky and have a look a the newest Cheery Lynn Dies that have just been released on the 15 th of May.
Here is my card for the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 28- Bling it Up, for those of you that know me I am sometimes known as the Queen of Bling but I tried not to go over the top with this card.
The dies that I have used are
English Tea Party DL 101
Miniature Rose B152
Lace Corner Deco C B163
Lace Corner Deco D B164
I love this doily die English Tea party and I thought it was appropriate that I used it with this Spellbinders Shapeabilities  Die Nested Tea Cups and embossed them with a Cuttlebug Folder. The paper is one of Kaiser's New Collection Magnolia Grove.
This is a close up of the Lace Corner Deco C B163 die and I have added some bling to it. I have also used Lace Corner Deco D B 164 under the little flowers for a little extra colour.
Here is a sneak peak of one of the new Doily Dies that Scrappy-go-Lucky has in stock, its another one of those must haves on my list.

Spring Flower Burst Doily Die with Angel Wing
Head on over to see the new dies that Scrappy-go-Lucky  has in stock, and don't forget to come and visit us at the June Craft Show stand no 72

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge Shades of Purple

Before I give you all the details of this weeks challenge, I just wanted to share with you all that I WON last week's challenge for Flower Challenge at Cheery Lynn's Challenge Blog. So I am lucky enough to get to spend $20 on some new Dies.
My other good new is that Bj co-owner of Cheery Lynn Dies wants to have my Flowers at the booth she will be at no 15 Creative Scrapbooking at the Scrapbooking and Paper Craft Convention and Expo in June at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre Southbank.I am very honoured and excited to have them on display.
So here is my list of Dies that I have used for this weeks challenge no 27 Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge  Shades Of Purple.
Lace Light Deco Border B133
Lace Rose and Flourishes B135
Garden Gate B124
Colonial Lamp Post B130
Large Rose B155
Medium Rose B154
Miniature Rose B152
Olive Branches B147
Fanciful Flourish B117
Lace Corner Deco A B161
Exotic Butterflies small set of 3 DL113
Click on the dies and they will take you straight to Scrappy-go-Lucky
There is a little bit of explaining for this one so here goes, I decided to make a shadow box so my butterflies are  really flying. I have used a painting canvas, covered it in Kaiser paper but turned it over to use the back of it so I could hang the butterflies inside. I have cut out two of each of the butterflies and glued them back to back so they can turn around.
This is a side on view of the Canvas made into the shadow box
The Lace Rose I have cut out once in the light green and then just the Rose in the middle from Dark Green and Pink, if your very careful to leave all the pieces in the die you can take them out one by one and place them back in where the die has cut them out, leaving the light green border. I have backed it with plain Kaiser cardstock and cut around the outside of the flower so I could glue the pieces onto it.
Here is a close up of the butterflies, I have hung them with fine purple cotton.
Hope you can understand all of this, and thanks so much for all your lovely comments they really give me boost and brighten my day.
Cheers Shelley

I wasn't going to post this one as one of the other very talented ladies has done something similar, ( didn't want her to think I had copied) but hers is a lot more detailed than mine. This is the list of the dies that I have used and the link to Scrappy-go-Lucky if you want to purchase them.

Cuties # 3 B151

I have used one of the Lace corner's from Lace Corner Deco D B 164,
for the middle of the flower, the pink and the mustard colour, I just love the way the dies are so versatile.
Well remember all the details for the Scrapbooking and Paper Craft Convention and Expo and come along and say hi to all of us.
