Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge For MOM

Wonderful Mother
God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He moulded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.
Pat O'Reilly
I thought I would share this lovely Poem with you all before I show you my card for the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge For Mom
So this is one of my cards for my Mum or my Mum -in-law not sure which one will get this one.Its a bit had to see with this card, I have actually made it out of cardboard and then covered each piece with Kaiser paper Sweets and matching Kaiser Cardstock, then joined the two pieces together with Ribbon so it ties at the side with tow bows.
Die's that I have used are
Dutch Scallop Square Frame DL 140 ( also the fancy die from the middle)
Japanese Lace and Flourish Frame DL 137 ( just the ferns in the middle)
These are linked to Scrappy-go-Lucky so hop on over and see what other Cheery Lynn Dies are available.

So here is my card, its like a window of flowers,
This is the back of the card
This is the card opened up and I have made little tags to sit in the pocket's which I have then used some Rub-ons on each one,
The versus on the tags,
I have actually glued the flowers onto the ribbon. And for a different effect I have used Cuties B149 and not rolled it up but just left it to use as a border on the top of the pockets.
Its not Mothers Day here until the 13 May so I have a little bit of time to make another card.
Thanks so much for leaving me comments it really makes it all worth while.
Cheers Shelley

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 16 Frame It

I have been waiting patiently for my New Dies that I ordered from Cheery Lynn with my $20 Voucher that I won on Challenge 13 Sweethearts, of course I had to add a little extra money to get both dies. I actually received them this week DL184 Sophia's Heart and DL183 Oval Doily Stacker One. So I have done two projects this time for this weeks Challenge Frame It 16 as I just love the stacker dies you can do so much with them, I have made a frame buy cutting the middle out of the second size die with the smaller one.
I have actually put this one in an oval frame that I picked up from a store and just painted it white that way instead of a card they can put it on the wall and show it of.
Just a close up of the flowers that I used, Cuties 1- B149, Cuties 2- B150, Cuties 3-B151, The leaves are from DL 137 Japanese Lace and Flourish Frame.
My next project is a card all done in my favourite colour PINK
In this card I have used all 3 of the dies in Oval Doily Stacker Dies DL 183 to create a frame around the little Kaiser stamp and added some pretty flowers in the corners.
Well I am of to run a few errands although I would rather been home on my craft room making lots of cards and scrapbooking its just the weather for it here in Brisbane.
Till next time Shelley

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 13 Sweethearts

I made this Quad Easel Card for my best friend's Mum's 70th Birthday. We always have a little giggle between all of us that I am the third daughter she never had. We have been best friends and used to live next door to each other for over 40 years so really they are my Family.
I decided I would enter this card in the Cheery Lynn Sweethearts Challenge and it was only because I realised at the last minute that I have used all Cheery Lynn Dies to make the card. Go and visit Mandy at Scrappy-go-Lucky as she carries lots of the Cheery Lynn Dies.
Its a little hard to take photos to actually do the card justice but here we go, this is looking down onto the card,
One view from side on
Happy
70 th
Birthday
Carol
Here are a couple of close ups
I have used the larger die of the Two of Hearts DL 128 set and Cuties 3 B151 for the Flowers and the green vine is Olive Branches B147
This flower is Cuties 1 B149 and the charm is from my2angels Scrapbooking
This die is the Celtic Heart B144
This is a close up of the card when its folded.
Well I hope you like this card, if you want to make one just google quad card and you should get instructions on how to make it.

Kaiser Saturday Sketch January # 4

Well this is my last sketch for Kaiser's month of January, I have once again used the Hummingbird collection for this layout. The smaller paper paper pads come in handy for the background pieces and I have also used the 12 x 12 sheets. I have added some Kaiser chipboard letters and coloured them with Copic markers and then added some Glossy Accents. Loving the collectables once again and the wooden flourish was coloured with Tim Holtz distress ink.
I used the word Gift and have made a little journal box with the words-
I gave my Mum and Dad
a Gift of a few days
Holiday at Caloundra.

After all they have
given me the GIFT or their LOVE.
Here is the sketch.

Thanks so much for leaving me your lovely comments it really brightens my day.

This layout is made from the Hummingbird Collection, using the 12 x12 paper as well as the paper pads, and of course the New Collectibles.
I have also used the new Kaiser cardstock and the flowers I have just layered about 8 of them and scrunched them up.
Here is the sketch we had to work with.
Be back with no 4 tomorrow.

Kaiser Saturday Sketch January # 1

Well I am going to have to post each of my Kaiser sketches today, tomorrow and Tuesday to get them all in as I have finished the last one today.
So here is the layout for Saturday Sketch #1
Its a great layout for using up all your bits and pieces of scrap or even your Paper Pads they are just the right size and your not wasting the whole 12 x 12 page.
I am just loving Kaiser's new Cardstock as well it cuts with the Cricut beautifully and also used a couple of EK Success Punches on the page as well.
Sorry the photo is not real great I have been using my daughter's camera as I dropped mine and need to replace it.
Here is the sketch we had to work with.
Until tomorrow Shelley

Sketches with a Twist

Well isn't it always nice to here that someone you have been following on their blog gets an award or even gets on a Design Team. Well my friend Lizzyc from Crumbs of Creativity has done just that.
She is on a new blog called Sketches with a Twist and is a member of their design team. So I thought I would have ago with there first sketch.
The Twist is your LO MUST have a 2 font title

This is what I have come up with, a picture of all of our Dogs. Unfortunately when I started doing this page our little dog Rusty was very sick and he passed away a few days later so this page layout is for him.
So here we have our dog's, Rusty is about 13, Zane is an old soul we call him grandad as he is always just sitting around with his front paws crossed he is about 4, Duke thinks he is the boss and he is about 3, Jasper is my daughter's fiance's dog and he is around 2 and then we have the new kid on the block Angus and he is 14 weeks old, he is a going to be a big dog.
I think this little verse from an older Kaiser paper is so true.
Well I hope you like my first sketch for Sketches with a Twist.

Kaiser Saturday Sketch October # 3

I have been getting things ready for my Girls Night In so I haven't posted anything for a week or so.
This is my take on the Kaiser Sketch for October # 3. I have used an older paper again as I wanted the colours to keep going with the Album that I am doing with Shelby's Formal. So with mostly Loire Valley Collection and a little bit of Argentella this is what I have come up with. Donna is Shelby's Mum she is in the green and her Auntie Tanya, Donna's sister, who has been my best friend since we were 3 years old, over 40 years or more now is in the Red .
I really love the bird cages so I have added this to the page as there are birds all over this collection.
A little bit of bling and the page is complete.
This is the sketch we had to work with.
My thoughts, prayers and condolence's goes out to a fellow blogger and business owner who has just lost her 2 month old Grand Daughter from SIDS, it is not something their family will get over, but knowing we are all thinking of them hopefully helps.

Kaiser Saturday Sketch October # 2

It is very hard to imagine that this gorgeous girl Shelby is 17 and all dressed up for her Year 12 Formal.
We have known her since she was born and we have watched her grow into a beautiful Young Lady.
I loved doing this Kaiser Sketch October # 2 as you could use 3 photo's and I love putting lots of photos on my pages. So this is done with an older paper called Sakura Park, I am not sure if you can still buy it but I wanted to use it because of the red and black colours.
I have used Doily Dies, Martha Stewart Punches, Nestabilities Dies, all Kaiser paper and of course lots of bling. Pop back in a few days as I have finished the Sketch for October # 1, and it will go into my album as this page's other half. The words are cut with Cricut Cartridge Forever Young.
This is the sketch we had to work with.

Kaiser Saturday Sketch September 2

Black and Bling was the theme for Jordyn 21st, so of course I had to keep the theme going with my layout for Kaiser's Saturday Sketch # 2. I came across some older black and white paper called Argententella and adding that with the newer Black and White paper pad a little bit of silver card stock using Nestabilities and a Doily Die they all went really well together.
Plus the added bonus for me was I could add lots of bling, with some kindy glitz on the Kaiser flowers and the ones I made with Kaiser paper and strips of bling around the photo and here it is my Black and Bling page.
A close up of the flowers
Here is the sketch.
Jordyn had a prize for the Bling King and Bling Queen and guess what I WON the Bling Queen, I am pretty well known for all of my costume jewellery and of course my watches which is at around 130 or more at the moment. I did tell Jordyn and Tracey I was out to win.
Cheers Shelley.

Kaiser Saturday Sketch August # 2

Well I did say I would be back with Kaiser's August Sketch no 2 and this is it.
I love the opportunity to be able to scrap or make cards using different brands of paper and when you actually see layouts or cards done with them, you can see that we all have our own unique ideas and interpretations. I love way the Hunt and Gather can be used it many different ways and not just for Camping or Fishing you just have to think outside the square.
I have used one of the 12 x 12 sheets of paper and the Paper Pads and Embellishments.
The stickers are from the Sticker Sheet that matches even the banner in the corner.
I have printed out the story and then brushed it over with Tim Holtz Distress Ink, to give it a dirty look.
Just a little tip if you put powder on the back of a sticker it stops it from sticking.
I was then able to use some mounting foam on the back of the bird to lift it up a bit.
Thanks so much for all your lovely comments,
 Cheers Shelley

Kaiser Saturday Sketch July # 4

Well can you believe we are in August already, the year has just flown by. Kaiser Saturday Sketch Challenge no 4 was last weeks but this is my take on it anyway. Can you tell my son is very proud of his new Subaru Impreza his first car that her actually cant drive until next year when he gets his license but he can have his lessons in it. I have used the Little Toot paper for this one and I traced around one of the other sheets of paper to get the backgound shape. I have used the alphabet stickers as well and used an older paper that had the tyre marks on it.
These are supposed to resemble tyres they are the old Christmas Carnival buttons that I have coloured in with Copic Markers and then used the gorgeous new Sparklets to make them look like a mag. These new Sparklets come in a variety of colours and I think they are going to me my favourite addition to my layouts.

This is the sketch.

I hope you enjoy the layout I have done see you soon with more.
Cheers Shelley

Scrap The Boys Challenge

This month your challenge fir Scrap The Boys is to use TAPE on your layout, this can be decorative tape, masking tape or even think outside of the square and make your own.You also need to use PLAY in your title.
So I decided to go through my drawers of bits and pieces of stuff that I always seem to buy and then never use. I found the tape with the skull and crossbones on it and thought I would give it a go. Kaiser has just the right paper for this layout so it was really quite easy. I have used the matching brads and even added a little motorbike charm.
You can see the little charm a bit better in this photo and i have actually attached it with a Kaiser brad.

Well I have another post coming tomorrow for last weeks Kaiser Sketch,
So see you all then and hope your having a great weekend.

Kaiser Saturday Sketch July # 3

Well I am back with another Kaiser Saturday Sketch # 3. This week I have chosen another photo of Jess and Luke when they were on their Cruise, and it will go into the album opposite the page I have done for Scrap The Girls. I have used the Pink Gelato again and cut out the flowers from the Paper Pad and also used the Cardboard Embellishments, and the Sticker Sheets.
This is a close up of the words from the Sticker Sheet.

I am having a little op on Wednesday so I wont be posting anything for a week or so.
Cheers Shelley

Scrap The Girls Challenge

For the month of July the challenge for Scrap The Girls is scrap a Layout using this album cover by
‘Pink’ ‘Greatest Hits….So Far’ as your inspiration.
Choose the colours, design, words whatever grabs you and use them to create your layout, girls only of course. And you have to choose any song title or lyrics by Pink and use them anywhere on your layout,
either as a title on your page or in your journaling.

So this is what I have come up with, I chose the song WHO KNEW, and then added on the page- you would be so BEAUTIFUL. This is my daughter Jess and a photo that was taken on there cruise this year.
I have used Kaiser Paper Pink Gelato, flourish and  pearls. Martha Stewart around the page punch and paper flowers. I cut the words out using Cricut Cartridge Lyrical Letters. The Flowers in the middle are from Hair Clips that I picked up from a Equip Jewellery shop.

I hope you like this one, I will be back soon with my Kaiser Sketch.
Cheers Shelley

Kaiser Saturday Sketch July # 2

Back again with another layout for the Kaiser July # 2 Saturday Sketch, this is what we had to work with .July_MeetingBabyMiller_RB

And here is what I have come up with. Once again you have to use at least 70 % of Kaiser products. The only thing that isn't Kaiser is the Tim Holtz distressing ink. Once again I have used the New Collection Little Toot. The little button is from Up Up and Away collection and the Star is from an older paper Fun Fair Trapeze. That's the good part about having lots of Kaiser Paper you never know when you may need something extra to match in.
This will go into the album next to Saturday Sketch July #1, thanks Kaiser I look forward to Saturday Sketch's each week.
Cheers Shelley
